Supporting a Healthy Business Community

Supporting a healthy local business community is a key component of economic development. The growth of local businesses forms the foundation of a strong economy, and numerous federal, provincial, local, and non-profit organizations across the province are dedicated to supporting businesses. The Restigouche RSC will have significant flexibility in determining the best ways to support businesses in its region, while avoiding duplication of existing services. As a first step, the RSC should seek to understand what the local business support ecosystem looks like, and then work with member municipalities and regional partners to identify and address any gaps.

Regional Economic Development Advisory Committee (REDAC)

The REDAC committee plays a key role in guiding economic development in the Restigouche region. Comprised of local leaders from the region’s strategic sectors, it brings together business stakeholders to build a shared vision. Together, they assess the region’s strengths and challenges, propose strategic actions, support the regional strategy, and recommend structural initiatives to attract, retain, and grow businesses and the workforce. True to Restigouche’s collaborative spirit, the REDAC serves as a bridge between local needs and regional, provincial, and federal strategies.
