Investment attraction is a key element of economic development and a catalyst for future growth. It involves attracting new businesses to the province to create jobs and inject fresh capital into our regions. ONB, in collaboration with many partners such as local governments and regional organizations, is the lead agency responsible for attracting investment to New Brunswick. The Restigouche RSC, or the organizations mandated to provide economic development services on its behalf, must ensure that all investment attraction efforts are directed and coordinated through ONB. The Restigouche RSC will play an important role in enhancing the region’s investment readiness.

Investment readiness is a commonly used term in the business world to describe a region’s business climate, the growth potential of its local businesses, and its ability to attract foreign capital. From a regional economic development perspective, investment-ready communities create favorable conditions for new investment and take into account the local business environment.
