911 is the emergency number in Canada. You can call it for free, 24 hours a day, to get immediate help from the police, fire department, or medical services (ambulance).
Use this number only in emergencies, such as a fire, a serious accident, or if your safety is in danger.

New Brunswick Medicare

Description

Provincially administered health plan that covers:

  • most medically required services provided by a physician in either a physician’s office or in an approved hospital
  • certain specified surgical dental procedures provided by a dentist when the service is medically required and rendered in an approved hospital
Eligibility

To be eligible for New Brunswick Medicare coverage, one must be:

  • a Canadian citizen or be legally entitled to remain in Canada and a resident who makes his/her permanent and principal home in New Brunswick
  • an international student who meets the eligibility criteria

Complete application online or fill out Application for Registration form and drop off at any Service New Brunswick location (see separate entries) or mail to:
